Extra Flu Vaccination Clinics Scheduled in Ocean County
Weeks and weeks of flu vaccination clinics have all been prep, say Ocean County health officials. Prime time starts now, as temperatures drop, indoor activity increases, and with it the risk of exposure to viruses.
So, if you missed the chance until now, the Health Department has placed nine more on the calendar through late January.
Clinics take place:
- December 11, 4 - 7 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Manahawkin
- December 16, 2:30 - 4 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Toms River
- December 18, 10 AM - 12 Noon, County Connection, Ocean County Mall, Toms River
- December 18, 5 - 7 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Lakewood
- December 29, 5 - 7 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Toms River
- January 6, 2015, 2:30 - 4 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Toms River
- January 9, 2015, 2 - 4 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Manahawkin
- January 14, 2015, 2 - 4 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Lakewood
- January 20, 2015, 2:30 - 4 PM, Ocean County Health Department, Toms River
Flu activity in New Jersey, so far, has been low, according to Health Department officials. Responding to reports of a strain that has mutated and resists the serum, officials stressed that the vaccine still protects against several prevalent strains.
Public Health Coordinator Dan Regneye said that the department will keep watch on flu intensity and schedule more clinics if necessary.
