Growing up Catholic there has always been a tight connection with the Pope ..... I made my First Communion at St. Joseph's Church in Toms River, made my Confirmation at St. Mary's in Manahawkin and was Married at St. Theresa's in Tuckerton .... So with this visit from Pope Francis comes a a lot of reflection growing up in the Church. Pope Francis is a leader for the people and it seems so many are excited as he arrives in the United States on Tuesday.....

My Nephew, Philly Luke, is lucky enough to have a ticket for Wednesday's mass at the Bisilica in Washington DC . Pope Francis will arrive in the United States tomorrow at 4 pm in Washington. He will go on a huge tour of the Nations Capitol Wednesday including a visit to the White House (Meeting with President), Address Congress, Papal Parade, Mass and Visit with thousands of Faithful .... Following Washington DC .... the Pope then leaves for New York City ....

The Pope arrives in the Big Apple on Thursday with services at Historic Saint Patrick's Cathedral ... Thursday Night. Pope Francis begins Friday Morning addressing the United Nations General Assembly followed by a "multi-religious" service at the 9/11 Memorial. From there the Pope visits a school in Harlem, Hosts a Parade through Central Park and then Mass at Madison Square Garden. Saturday Morning The Pope departs for Philadelphia ....

Saturday in Philly the Pope will Host Mass at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul , visit Independence Mall, and take part in the Festival of Families. Sunday the Pope has a full day of appearances including a "closing" mass attended by thousands .... late Sunday Pope Francis concludes his visit to the United States and departs for the Vatican.
