41-year old Dennis Kotch of Wall plead guilty in June to charges related to the theft of school funds.

Charges Kotch plead guilty "by way of an accusation", to two counts of second degree Official Misconduct, two counts of third degree Theft by Unlawful Taking, one count of third degree Misapplication of Entrusted Property, and one count of Insurance Fraud, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office.

The intern earned $27,439.95 from January of 2015 until May of 2016 where most of the work she did was while she was attending college in Florida at the time.

The complaint against Kotch stems from the school district having suspicion he was involved in stealing district funds.

Kotch resigned his position in May of 2016, a week after the investigation was initiated.
The investigation also found Kotch spent twenty-two work days out of the district, often out-of-state, without using vacation time or other leave time.
