Erica’s Sweets with Shawn & Sue
Erica is part of the WOBM Hometown Crew. She’s young and she has dreams. And in some way, we think we’re helping her get closer to her dream. She wants a bakery/sweet shop and you know what, she’ll have one someday! But for now she bakes for The Ocean County Breakfast Show every Friday morning and shares her everything home-made goodies!
Today’s SWEET is Cinnamon Buns!
Yeast needs sugar and warm liquid to activiate
1 cup warm milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tbs yeast
Stir and let sit for 7 – 10 minutes. Should be frothy & bubbly. If it doesn’t look like this, you’ll have to try again. Second time is the charm.
If you make your own dough, it’s important to make sure the yeast is active. I had to make the dough a second time because the first dough didn’t rise.
