Erica is part of the WOBM Hometown Crew. She’s young and she has dreams.  And in some way, we think we’re helping her get closer to her dream.  She wants a bakery/sweet shop and you know what, she’ll have one someday!  But for now she bakes for The Ocean County Breakfast Show every Friday morning and shares her everything home-made goodies!

Yeast needs sugar and warm liquid to activiate

Erica's Recipe:

1 cup warm milk

1/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 tbs yeast

Stir and let sit for 7 - 10 minutes.  Should be frothy & bubbly.  If it doesn't look like this, you'll have to try again.  Second time is the charm.

If you make your own dough, it's important to make sure the yeast is active.  I had to make the dough a second time because the first dough didn't rise.
