Emergency management training at NWS Earle Thursday

On Thursday, activity at Naval Weapons Station Earle will be on a visibly higher scale than civilians are used to seeing, during special g exercises involving the entire installation.

Security and emergency management personnel undergo training, though base officials say that it does not correspond to any specific threat.

There are likely to be some traffic disruptions on the perimeter roads, as well as delays in base access, on Route 34 in Colts Neck and on Route 36 in Leonardo, and residents in the area might spot increased security activity.

Also, residents might hear announcements on the base's emergency broadcast system that are connected to the drill. They'll be distinguishable by the repeated phrase, "Exercise, Exercise, Exercise," before and after.
