Egg Harbor Township Suicide Victim ID’d
The 21-year-old whose naked remains were found in an Egg Harbor Township wooded section Saturday was a resident of the community.
Atlantic County authorities say Klevins Exantus died by his own hand shortly after being accosted by police near Black Horse Pike around 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
According to county Prosecutor Ted Housel, Exantus was walking along Fork Road near the state highway, unclothed and holding a knife. When ordered to drop it, police say, Exantus began stabbing himself. He broke loose while they were trying to subdue him, running toward the woods in which he was found a short time later.
The autopsy conducted Monday determined the cause of death to be stab wounds in the chest and abdomen, and the manner of death to be suicide.
