Eatontown pediatric surgeon indicted for criminal sexual contact with a patient

An Eatontown pediatric surgeon has been indicted for alleged criminal sexual contact with a 17-year old female patient during an exam on May 1.

72-year old Dr. Saad Saad of Red Bank faces five to ten years in state prison if convicted of second degree endangering the welfare of a child and 18-months for fourth degree criminal sexual contact.

A Monmouth County grand jury returned the 2-county indictment on Monday of last week against Saad who allegedly had inappropriate contact with the 17-year old girl during an exam May 1 at Meridian Pediatric Surgical Associates in Eatontown Borough.

The investigation by the Eatontown Police Department was eventually given to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office (MCPO), Special Victim's Bureau who took over.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
