Police say Micael Borges Da Silva Castro, 23, of Maryland wasn't wearing a seat-belt when he cruised by a stop sign near New York and Coolidge Avenues and collided with a pickup truck.

The 2013 Dodge Ram Pickup driven by Kenneth Work, 51 of Whiting caused the Chevy to overturn multiple times.

Police say the Dodge, who was traveling southbound on Coolidge Avenue had the right of way at the time of the crash.

Michelle Work, 58, was the passenger in the Dodge and was unharmed.

Hysla Santos, 21 of Newark and rear seat passenger Luiz Ribciro, 20 of Elizabeth are believed to have worn their seat-belts while inside the Chevy and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Da Silva Castro was taken by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
