Driver hurt in Toms River morning-rush chain collision
TOMS RIVER - A driver is recovering from head injuries resulting from a crash on Route 37 this morning that impacted his car on both ends and trapped him inside.
Michael Carlo, 32, of Seaside Park, required extrication from his 2015 Toyota Corolla after the rush-hour, three-car chain collision on Route 37 at Coolidge Avenue, according to police, who said that he was hospitalized.
The crash occurred at about 7:10 AM on the westbound side of the highway. Police said that Carlo was stopped in traffic at a red signal behind a 2015 Nissan Rogue, driven by Edward Brick, 32, of Brick Township.
