Los Angeles is one of three cities still in the running to host the 2024 Summer Olympics and that might work very nicely for Alyssa Wilson who will be spending at least the next four years there.

The Donovan Catholic senior, one of the most sought-after track and field athletes in the country signed her national letter of intent with UCLA during a ceremony at the high school last night.  Wilson visited UCLA in early October and knew then that it was the right place for her following visits to Oregon, Tennessee and Auburn.

The Jackson resident is coming off junior year that saw her set state and junior class records in the shot put and win a bronze medal in the Junior World Championships this summer in Poland.  Last night’s signing ceremony included her family, coaches and many of her classmates at Donovan Catholic.
