A domestic violence incident turns fatal at a home at 21 Maplewood Drive in Little Egg Harbor Wednesday night around 8:15 pm.

A source with knowledge of the investigation tells WOBM News this morning that the altercation involved a stabbing of a male victim.

25-year old Kendrick Coley has been charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in the death of 28-year old Richard Pone, according to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office.

Authorities arrived on scene following a 9-1-1 call reporting a man in the residence with a knife and found out there was a stabbing victim.

They met Coley upon arrival near the garage and questioned him about what took place.

A woman inside took police upstairs to where Pone was lying unresponsive. (He passed around 8:42 pm.)

Ocean County investigators say Pone confronted Coley about assaulting a woman at the residence earlier Wednesday.

The two then had an altercation.

Coley grabbed a kitchen knife then came at Pone and stabbed him in the chest in the upstairs bedroom.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit, Little Egg Harbor Police Department and the Ocean County Sherriff's Department are investigating the incident.
