Members of the Ocean County Medical Society will personally deliver 15 boxes of winter apparel to the homeless in Lakewood's "Tent City."

The OCMS has been collecting donations via clothing and blanket drives over the past two months, and on Wednesday, Oct. 24, the doctors will bring the donations to the homeless community off Cedar Bridge Rd.

There are currently 85 residents living onsite at the community.  They will be provided with blankets, coats, boots, hats, and gloves to help them battle the impending cold.

A first aid kit, which was put together from monetary donations from the members of the OCMS, will be given to the community.

The Medical Society of New Jersey is also providing discount prescription cards to residents and their family members without prescription drug coverage.

OCMS and MSNJ members will be on site Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.  Entrance to the tent city is accessed off a dirt road, located directly across from Clover St.
