It's a discussion that we've already had plenty of times - are the Jersey Shore cast members good for Ocean County?

I think that most of us can agree that, in the end, if it brings us tourists who'll spend their money here, well, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

But, do you think that Snooki's recent comments to Pelican Island residents are appropriate?

In two separate comments, one on Instagram and one on Twitter, she seems to suggest that she, her baby, and her fiancé are just like any other family vacationing at the shore for the summer and have just as much of a right to be here as anyone else. In one comment, directed at Berkeley Township Council President James Byrnes, she says, "I have a family just like everyone else that enjoys the shore".

But there's a pretty major piece that she leaves out - none of the other families that come to enjoy our beaches bring camera crews and gawking fans with them.

So, I hate to break it to you, Snooks, but you're not "just like everyone else that enjoys the shore". You're more than welcome to enjoy our beaches, boardwalks, restaurants, and night life when you are "just like everyone else" - without cameras and hangers-on in tow.

That sound you hear is the ticking of her 15 minutes about to run out.

What do you think? Is Snooki just like anyone else who has a right to bring their family to the shore, or is she greatly understating the situation? (No pun intended).
