Do You Support Driver Licenses for Undocumented Immigrants? It soon could become law here in New Jersey. According to a recent nj.com article, supporters, including Governor Murphy, feel it'll make New Jersey's streets safer because they'll be trained to drive and insured.

"Right now, undocumented immigrants often choose to drive without licenses, which results in uninsured drivers on the road whose skills behind the wheel have not been vetted," ~ Dan Bryan (Gov Murphy Spokesman)

Will undocumented immigrants want to risk being exposed to officials? and if they are currently not paying MVC fees and insurance will they want to add this to their biils?

The legislation is sponsored by several North Jersey Assembly Members and is under review. The other states with such programs are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Vermont and Washington.
