If you were listening to WOBM Friday, you heard my shock and dismay that Justin Louis does not fold his pizza.  He's lived in New Jersey for so long yet you wouldn't know it by watching him eat a slice.  Truth be told, I grew up in Queens, NYC, where EVERYONE folds their pizza.  I recall being as young as 8, telling Mom that "Kathy and I are going to get a slice."  It's what we did as kids to spend time with our friends.  The pizza place was also where the pinball machine so it was always a fun time.  And tasty too.

Maybe it's wrong of me to assume that ALL people in New Jersey are folders, but can we agree that a MAJORITY are? (See the results of Justin Louis' web poll here.)

With respect to anyone reading this from out of town visiting the great Jersey Shore, we know you may not fold.  Heck, you may even be more comfortable using a knife and fork! We hope you enjoy your time here and we know you'll love our many delicious pizza offerings.

If you're interested in seeing how the locals do it, please watch this short video tutorial.

Among the benefits of the "fold hold," the crease is a place for the grease to collect and drip off and it prevents the pointy part from sagging.

If you fold your pizza, please indicate where you grew up (in the Comments section.)  I'm wondering if folding might be more of a NYC/North Jersey thing.
