We've been so inundated with news lately that it's gotta be tempting to just get on a plane, go somewhere warm and sunny, and just unplug from the world for a little while.

Many of us were forcefully "unplugged" in the aftermath of Sandy, but that's more of a helpless feeling of not knowing what's going on rather than a feel-good getaway.

And of course we went directly from Sandy to the election, and directly from the election to another storm (which, awkwardly, The Weather Channel thought they should name).

So have you ever voluntarily just completely unplugged from modern society to give the news overload a break for a while? Tell us about your most relaxing getaways in the comments section!
