Back in the Spring I talked about how we have a number of great options for family beach destinations here in Ocean County. But today, one New Jersey reporter is slamming Point Pleasant Beach.

In the pages of NJ.com, the reporter spends the vast amount of the article ripping the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk apart.

From saying that people who go for the beach have, "...made a big mistake", to going so far as to say that, "Point is best avoided altogether during summer weekends and holidays".

I don't know this reporter personally, but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that he's not a local.

Sure, Point Pleasant Beach gets crowded and parking can be difficult. But here's the thing that sets the locals apart - we know when to go, where to park, and where the best spots are on the beach.

Telling people to avoid the town altogether, one of the most important for Ocean County's economy, is unfair at best.

While some valid points are included (yes, lots of people will be on a beach on a summer weekend, shocker!), I'd argue that Point Pleasant Beach is still one of the premiere Ocean County destinations for families.
