Giving anything the title of "The Best" is always going to be met with some controversy, especially when it comes to something like nightlife.

One person's idea of a the perfect place to throw a few back could be another's nightmare night out.

You might like classy and laid back, while your neighbor could be more the dim lighting, old pool table, jukebox that still takes quarters type.

With all that in mind, the folks over at NJ.com attempted to pick the best bar in each of New Jersey's counties.

So, which taproom takes the award for Ocean County?

Writer Peter Genovese names North Beach Haven's Hudson House as the best in Ocean County, saying that it's,

...the kind of bar that seems out of place on family-friendly Long Beach Island. It's a great, no-frills neighborhood bar, but not for everyone. A reviewer on yelp called it "the absolute worst bar in LBI,'' while the review immediately after it said: "Completely chill vibe. . . I'd be here every night if I lived down here.'' Head to The Hud and make up your own mind.

Now, I do have to say, I'm not much of a bar-goer, so I can't really pass judgment on this particular choice.

However, I can say that there are many other bars between places like Point Pleasant, Toms River, and Seaside Heights that I'm more familiar with, even if just from a word of mouth standpoint.

But hey, maybe the point is to bring a not as obvious choice to the public's attention.

But I want to know what you think! Do you agree with this choice for the best bar in Ocean County? If not, which would you pick? Comment below and chime in!
