With a Heat Advisory in effect for Ocean and Monmouth Counties, you probably don't want to use the oven or stove today.  There are many ways to feed yourself or your family without having to work in a hot kitchen.

On scorchers like today, salad is always a good standby.  I sometimes add the pre-packaged, cooked chicken slices from the supermarket.  It's quick, easy, healthy and refreshing, but may not be the right fit for your kids or the man in your house who may be more of a meat and potatoes kind of guy.

For those types, a nice beef stew in the crockpot could work. Or maybe a hearty chili?  They always come out delicious don't really heat up the kitchen.
