It's that time of year again. Co-workers will start bringing in Girl Scout Cookie order sheets. Tables will be set up outside of stores and in malls, and many of us will stash a box or two of Thin Mints in the freezer.

My cousin's daughter sent an email out to family members earlier this afternoon with an order form and I made a horrifying discovery...my favorite variety, the Lemon Chalet Crèmes, were nowhere to be found.

This year the scouts are celebrating 100 years of their organization by introducing a new lemony cookie. It looks similar to the "Lemon Cooler" cookies that were around a few years ago, but no creamy, sandwichy goodness to be found. A quick stop by the official Girl Scout Cookie website shows no trace of them.

In 2010 and 2011, there were some issues with batches of the Lemon Chalet Crèmes having a slightly "off" taste, but the issue only impacted a few batches. While the problem was relatively isolated, I can only assume that the press surrounding the recall lead to the phasing out of the tasty treats.

If anyone knows where I can get my hands on a box (or four) of Lemon Chalet Crèmes, feel free to leave a comment below!
