In a developing story this morning, comedy and fashion icon Joan Rivers has reportedly been rushed to a New York hospital.

TMZ is reporting that she was undergoing an outpatient procedure on her vocal cords when she apparently stopped breathing and 911 was called.

The latest update, from just before Noon, was that she is in critical condition at a New York City hospital.

UPDATE - 12:34pm - E! News personality Ken Baker tweeted that Joan is in critical but stable condition:

 

 

UPDATE - 3pm - Joan was scheduled to perform at The Count Basie Theatre tomorrow. The show has been postponed, with The Count Basie releasing the following statement:

This show has been postponed to a date to be determined. We ask that customers hold on to their tickets, as they will be honored for the new date. Everyone at the Count Basie Theatre is relieved to hear that Ms. Rivers’ condition has stabilized, and we look forward to hosting the iconic comedienne in the near future.
