A heads up for anyone traveling along Route 33 in Neptune this morning, the road remains closed following a Monday car accident.

The accident occurred sometime Monday between West Bangs Avenue and Pine Terrace that knocked down poles and wires.

Jumping Brook Road and Old Corlies are also closed.

Businesses in the immediate area are closed as well.

Detours are set up to Route 66 from West Jumping Brook Road and West Bangs Avenue until further notice.

Police say Route 33 will remain closed until repairs have been made and finished.

JCP&L was on the scene Monday night around 8:45 pm to make the repairs and restore power to the immediate area.

Neptune OEM and NJ DOT officials were also on the scene.

Information regarding how the accident occurred, at what time as well as any charges the driver(s) could face or if any summonses will be issued have yet to be released by police.
