According to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain, murder and conspiracy counts were authorized today for Kahlil S. Blackwell, 20, of Mays Landing, and for Demarice G. Bennett, 25, of Pleasantville, in connection with the July 29 death of Sedrick Lindo, 25, of Atlantic City.

McClain says that Blackwell and Bennett are currently behind bars on unrelated charges. A judge set bail for each at $500,000. Their initial court appearances have not yet been scheduled.

Investigators say that Lindo was shot repeatedly while sitting on the porch of a housing complex on South Carolina Avenue.

Prosecutors say Joshua M. Cross, 25, of Mays Landing, was already incarcerated on unrelated counts when he was charged with murder and conspiracy on August 28.

A 16-year-old sought in connection with the incident turned himself in to the Atlantic City Police Department on October 4. The teen is in the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Faciity in Egg Harbor City.
