The contract includes an innovative higher education partnership with the Garden State.

“We’re continuing to work with Lockheed Martin to create a New Jersey Advanced Research and Technology and Talent Center,” says New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

He points out the partnership, which includes the state, Lockheed Martin, the Secretary of Higher Education and the State’s Higher Education Community, will enable academic researchers to collaborate with Lockheed Martin in developing advanced technologies, training and educational experiences that will bolster high technology for years to come.

Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno says this advanced technology school will become, “a feeder for engineers and scientists far into the future and it’s going to be a joint project with five institutions of higher education in New Jersey. It is a model that we have not seen in New Jersey. It’s unique unto this country.”

She adds it’s a perfect opportunity to create the next generation of scientists and engineers in New Jersey, and make sure they stay here in the future.
