Just last month, word spread that Island Creole Kitchen, which occupied the former Meanbean Burritos and Java Joint space right on the corner of Main and Washington Streets in Toms River, was closing.

But if you've driven or walked past 73 Main Street in the last few days, you may have noticed that a new sign went up in the window:

The new restaurant, named Crave, will feature what looks like a classic American menu; with breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, and the one that caught my eye the most - mac & cheese.

As you can see, there isn't much info aside from that tease. I couldn't find a website or even any stories about it yet, so we'll have to wait to find out when they're planning to open and what the menu will look like more specifically.

If you ask me though, I think that this could be a good restaurant strategy for downtown Toms River - a simple menu that will appeal to the huge variety of people, from high school students to lawyers, and everything in between, who spend their days downtown.

We'll be sure to keep you updated as the opening of Crave Toms River nears!
