Crash causes boat to capsize on Route195

HOWELL -It was quite the scene along Route 195 east this morning after a collision involving a Jeep hauling a boat trailer on Sunday morning.

State Police spokesman Lawrence Peale said the a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Melaney Santamaria, 21, of Belmar stuck the Jeep driven by Bela Vincze, 52, of Holland, PA on the highway near the exit for Route 9 around 6:30 a..m. which caused  a 23-foot Bayliner Craft to flip onto its side and block a lane and shoulder of the highway.

The road was closed for about 2 hours, according to Peale, who said the incident remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported and no citations have yet been issued.
