Council OKs Sandy Ombudsman Position
The Toms River Town Council approves the creation of a disaster recovery ombudsman position.
The ordinance was given the green light at a special meeting last night. They expect to fill the spot sometime next month.
The person would be responsible for serving as a liaison to federal, state and local governments during the rebuilding process.
The Patch of Toms River describes the position as a 4 day, 19-hour-a-week part-time position that includes Saturdays. The candidate would need to have construction & recovery experience. The job would end when the Council feels it is no longer needed and would pay $30-40K reports the Patch of Toms River.
