"This would be, probably, the best thing we ever had to come to Little Egg Harbor" ~ Linda Famie

In a recent Sandpaper article, it was reported that landowners here at the Shore are courting Great Wolf Lodge to build a new hotel in Southern Ocean County in Little Egg Harbor. Real estate developer Linda Famie from Princeton has been talking with Great Wolf Lodge Inc. to buy her 68 acres next to Walmart on Route 9 in Little Egg. Famie announced the talks with Mayor Bobbi Jo Crea and the township committee during their recent municipal meeting last Thursday (1/10).

Great Wolf runs 16 family resorts around the nation that include an indoor water park as an attraction. The park has appeared in USA Today's 10Best.com Readers' Choice Awards.

Famie says things have stalled a bit here in Jersey in talks between her and local officials. Famie said, Great Wolf was "not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling." Famie added the "Project sunsets in June".

Little Egg Mayor Bobbi Jo Crea said the township has a new "Commercial Revitalization Committee" that Famie could attend. “All I needed was a letter that Little Egg Harbor was interested,” said Famie.

Personally, I have been to Great Wolf Lodge and we loved it. My entire family loved the lodge and waterpark. It would be awesome to have such a fantastic family getaway right here at the Shore. Tourists could take advantage of the lodge, our beaches & ocean attractions, restaurants and if they need a theme park day, Six Flags is right around the corner. Let's hope more is discussed and that we don't miss out on such an opportunity. I would support such a project.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT A GREAT WOLF LODGE IN OCEAN COUNTY?
