Controlled Burn In Monmouth’s Ocean Township Today

If you see smoke behind the Board of Education building in Monmouth County's Ocean Township today, no cause for alarm. It's scheduled.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is conducting a prescribed burn in the wooded stretch off Monmouth Road and Gates Avenue in the township's Oakhurst section. They plan to operate from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM.

Ocean Township Police are urging homeowners who live in the area to be aware of occasionally heavy smoke through midday.
