If you are going to be traveling on the Garden State Parkway this weekend you could see some big delays. There will be ongoing construction beginning today and lasting until Monday morning.

According to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, due to weekend construction in Monmouth County, only one lane will be open on the northbound Garden State Parkway local lanes north of Exit 109 (Middletown) from 10 a.m., Friday, April 27th through 5 a.m., Monday, April 30th.

Permanent repairs are being done to a bridge damaged in an accident in November.

Construction crews will be working around the clock through the weekend in order to complete the permanent repairs and reopen the lanes before the Monday morning rush.

Motorists should expect delays and allow for additional travel time to reach their destinations.
