Comrades in Arms, Friends in Need: Brick VFW Helps American Legion Rebuild
Ten months after Superstorm Sandy, the water-ravaged Brick Township American Legion Post 348 is only halfway toward complete repair.
The plight isn't lost on members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8867. They're pitching in, and asking you to contribute.
The VFW post on Adamston Road will be the setting for a fundraising family fun day this Saturday, 12 noon until 6 PM.
Organizers led by former Seabee Terry Fearon have already secured bands and children's entertainment, including a petting zoo and pony rides. They'll be conducting raffles through the day.
Each $20 admission fee goes directly to the cost of restoring the American Legion hall.
There is still some room for vendors and volunteers, and donations are being gratefully accepted.
