As Fall rolls around many of us are going apple picking, pumpkin picking, leaf raking and, unfortunately closing up the pools and bringing the delicate plants indoors. Personally, I'm a Spring and Summer guy. I'll take warm over cold any day. But there is one thing I like about the Fall and Winter...comfort food.

It's around this time every year that I start thinking about whipping up my reliable chili recipe. I've been making my chili for almost a decade now. It's one of those recipes that's constantly changing. I got the original recipe off of the internet, it was just a simple, basic beef chili recipe. At the time I was on a bit of a health kick so I just substituted ground turkey for the ground beef (over time I've brought the beef back in, it's now 50/50 beef/turkey). But let's be honest, basic chili is boring. So over time I've added a little of this, a little of that. I'll be honest, not every little tweak has worked out in my favor, but there have been some revelations too that have become a permanent part of my recipe.

I don't wanna brag, but even Joanne Cruise, a chili cook herself, says my chili is darn good.

What's your favorite cold weather comfort food?
