Cologne Shoplifting Suspect Sought by Toms River PD
The suspect seen pocketing fragrances in JC Penney at the Ocean County Mall on May17 remains outside the law. Toms River police hope that a surveillance shot will jar someone's memory and lead to an arrest.
A cologne heist in a department store might not seem like a terrible problem in the general scheme of things, but police say that crimes of this type are often repetitive until a suspect is captured and charged.
Officer Ted Malony, who responded to the call from the store, reported that the individual was spotted by loss prevention officers and took off running when he was approached.
Detective Steve Bucciat is handling the case. He can be reached at 732-349-0150, extension 1300.
