Sunday we ventured out on our first "college" visit with my daughter

Over the weekend we took a road trip ( not a very far ride lol  ) to our first College "open house."

It was a beautiful day Sunday for a short drive to Richard Stockton College in Galloway Township, home of the Ospreys.

Driving down I could not help but think how things are moving so fast now as our kids have gone from our babies to teens to young adults. I sometimes get myself stressed out wondering how the kids will do, but I then remind myself that its "their" journey .... and that they will find their way. It's still easy to wanna ask and answer all the questions for Her as we take the tour lol

As you can see in the photo above, there was ALOT of Parents feeling the same as us. We even ran into some friends along the way. I must say that if your looking at Colleges with your kids....take advantage of their open house programs. It's a great way to see a school at your own pace and see all it has to offer. Gotta admit the students really did a great job answering questions and guiding us through halls :)

As time goes on I am becoming more aware of the fact I cannot control everything in the kids life and that I need to relax and step back and let life take its course ( I still freak out from time to time lol ) and hope the best for them.

Parents do you find the same scenario in your home  ?

Here's some of the things we got to see

  • Freshman Dorms
  • Classrooms
  • Information Fair
  • Campus Layout
  • Cafeterias and Food Court
  • Study Areas/Library

So this was just the first of a few campus visits for Erin, so we are a long way from anything final. I just want her to feel comfy whether she's away from home or commuting from home to an area school....there's no rush :) But I enjoyed this trip and look forward to the next .... fun being on campus
