The Coast Guard tells Townsquare Media News that the two people on board were not injured and were taken to safety thanks to a good Samaritan in the area.

It happened near the Loveladies Harbor Development in Long Beach Township last night during routine refueling.  Coast Guard Crews from the Barnegat Light station responded to the scene along with the New Jersey State Police.

The investigation into the cause is underway.  The boat was towed from the area by TowBoat U.S.

A little further north and several hours earlier, the Coast Guard had to medevac a fisherman suffering from a heart attack on a commercial fishing vessel near Barnegat Light.

A crew member of the fishing vessel named Captain Cecil, stating one of its crewmembers was in need of medical attention. A helicopter was dispatched from the Coast Guard Air Station in Atlantic City.  The 59 year old man was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.  No word on his condition.
