Ricardo J. Patterson III, 42, of Willingboro, remained at the spot on Route 130 where Antwan L. Timbers, Jr., 17, was run down just eight minutes after midnight in Burlington City, according to the office of Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi. He was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving Monday.

Investigators concluded that Timbers and a friend were walking alongside the highway when the incident unfolded at East Federal Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Patterson gave investigators a blood sample after the collision. An autopsy on the victim is under the direction of county Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.
