Church Wallet Theft Suspect Nabbed

The individual believed to have pilfered a woman's wallet in a Howell Township church and going on a shopping spree with her charge accounts is already in custody.

Frank Masone, 23, of Howell, has been charged with theft and credit card fraud, according to Howell PD Sergeant Eileen Dodd. He was identified through a flurry of response generated by circulation of his photo on web and social media pages, she said.

He was located in the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, where he's being held on unrelated charges, police said.

Masone is accused of palming the wallet during a busy May 14 afternoon at St. William the Abbot, then running up charges at Target, Wal-Mart, BJ's, Gulf Gas and Wawa.
