Christie Makes The Rounds Of Morning Shows [VIDEO]

Governor Christie wasn’t bored in the morning as he appeared on all 3 network morning shows taking on different topic related to the Romney campaign.

The Governor in an interview on ABC’s Good Morning, America told George Stephanopoulos that Gulf Coast residents in the path of Isaac are in his thoughts. “We’re all obviously looking very closely at what’s going to be happening in the gulf. And our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and hope that any damage that may happen will be minimal and there will be no loss of life,” he said.

He also had some advice for Mitt Romney. “Mitt Romney is going to have to win this campaign. And to do that over the next 70 days he’s going to have to let the American people see who he is, put out a bold vision for the future. Remember, he’s a challenger…Challengers always get a late look,” he said.

DON’T PANDER TO WOMEN

He continued that theme on CBS’ This Morning. “For the American people, they haven’t been introduced yet to Mitt Romney,” Christie said. “This next 70 days is going to be Mitt Romney — if he chooses to — opening up… People will see things and hear things from him that will open their eyes.”

Christie also advised against catering to women in order to close a 10% gap. “I think there’s a fallacy about having to cater to a particular sector of the electorate,” said Christie. “I think it’s condescending to women to say we have to have a different message for women than we have with men.”

Christie’s first appearance of the day was on NBC’s Today Show where he gave a preview of his keynote address.

Speaking on NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday, Christie said he’ll talk about how a Republican governor and Democratic Legislature worked together to reign in public worker benefits, cap property tax growth and toughen teacher tenure laws.

He says unlike President Obama, Romney would work towards compromise with the opposing party.

Christie says it’s important to work without compromising your principles.

Christe again called the NY Post story about not believing in Romney’s chance to win in November as “garbage” and in fact downplayed that the keynote could serve as a launch to his own run in 2016. Instead, Christie said he is looking at 2020 after a possible 2nd Romney term in the White House.

He will also appear on ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS’ This Morning and CNBC’s Morning Joe today.

Later today he”ll address the Michigan delegates and then pay a visit to the Tampa Bay Times Forum before delivering the keynote address at 10:30PM tonight.

Meanwhile, New Jersey Democrats will get in their criticism of Christie during 2 seperate press conferences today. Assemblyman John Wisniewski, chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee and 6th district Congressman Rush Holt will meet with reporters at 10AM in Trenton to discuss the Governor’s record. Then, Senator Frank Lautenberg and Wisniewski hold a conference call to criticize Christie’s record at 12noon.
