Gov. Chris Christie is known for not shying away from confrontation. But Tuesday, he turned the other cheek.

During a senior citizens forum in Lakewood, a man who did not give his name facetiously thanked the Republican governor for being a "role model" for bullies. He then asked the governor about his stance on raising the state's minimum wage.

Christie, who once yelled down a heckler on a Boardwalk and called a veteran who criticized him "an idiot," did not take the bait.

Instead, he calmly answered the minimum-wage question, saying he's for an increase but a more gradual one that legislative Democrats want.
