A public hearing in the matter is scheduled for July 21 at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.

The LMI program provides qualifying home owners with up to $150,000 for rebuilding, rehabbing and raising Sandy-damaged dwellings in the nine affected New Jersey counties.

Administration officials see to amend the state's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) disaster recovery action plan to open up the additional funding.

More information about Action Plan Amendment Number 16, is viewable at renewjerseystronger.org. The comment period stays open for 30 days. Following the Brookdale hearing, DCA will submit the proposal to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Eligible property owners in the nine counties who applied by the March 20 deadline sustained more than $8,000 in Superstorm-related damage to their primary homes, have annual household incomes equal to or less than 80 percent of the Area Median Income guidelines by county set by HUD.
