BEDMINSTER — Gov. Chris Christie's possible role with the Trump Administration remained unclear following their meeting at Trump's National Golf Club on Sunday.

Christie, who lives about 20 minutes away in Mendham, came to the Bedminster club and met with President-elect Donald Trump for about 30 minutes.  When asked whether Christie could get an administration job, Trump told reporters that "he's a very talented guy." Trump later said the meeting was "very good" and Christie said it was "great" shortly before he left the club.

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, billionaire investor Wilbur Ross and retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, the former commander of U.S. Southern Command, also came to the Somerset County club on Sunday to meet with Trump.

The governor was the head of Trump's transition team through the campaign but was demoted to a vice chairman within 48 hours of the election. Vice President-elect Mike Pence was named to head the team.

Lt. Kim Guadagno will join the governor for a cabinet meeting Monday morning at the Statehouse, but the agenda for that meeting is not part of their public schedule. It will be the first time the two have officially met since Christie bumped Guadagno as keynote speaker at the League of Municipalities meeting in Atlantic City on Friday.

The two have had public differences of opinion about the recent gas tax increase and a ballot question that would dedicate the Transportation Trust Fund to only transportation projects. Guadagno said she opposed the question because it would allow the state to borrow millions of dollars more, even though the question as it appeared on the ballot didn't describe that borrowing.

Christie will appear on New Jersey 101.5's Ask the Governor on Monday night at 7 p.m. while Guaradgo will appear with morning show host Bill Spadea Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.

The governor will be taking your calls Monday at 800-283-1015 — but the phone lines fill up quickly. There are other ways to get your question heard:
