If plans are approved and move forward, a long time Seaside Heights boardwalk destination could be getting a new coat of paint, literally.

A family fun destination for 40 years, the owners of the Coin Castle arcade are looking to add a modern restaurant to the arcade that would include an indoor/outdoor seating area.

Personally, I think that the design is modern and classy, it reminds me of some of the trendy eateries that you would find on the Asbury Park boardwalk.

Here's how the agenda from the Seaside Heights Planning Board meeting on January 7th, 2019 describes the project:

The applicant proposes to remove the amusement games on the south east corner of the property (Webster Ave. and Ocean Terrace) replacing them with a full service, fast-food restaurant and bar. This facility will seat 84 people. The current Coin Castle signage would be removed and additional Spicy's signage would be added over the new area.

The next Planning Board meeting is set for January 30th at the Seaside Heights Municipal Complex, and the Coin Castle project is expected to be formally presented at that time.

We'll be sure to keep you updated on the latest developments!
