Central Regional had a power outage several weeks ago where the students had to leave their classes and school rather early in the day and did not get a whole day in, they have to make it up. The Superintendent says they have to make it up.

Superintendent of the Central Regional School District, Triantafillos Parlapanides. recently wrote a letter to parents and students in the Central Regional School District explaining why.

Students have to get 240 minutes in, with the May 4th power outage at the schools - (Middle and High School) - they need to make this up on a Saturday for Graduations for the High School, Middle School, and Berkeley Township School District. Those dates were already set.

Students will go to school Saturday, June 9th for a half day. The middle school from 8:40 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. and the high school from 7:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. The pick-up time for students on Saturday, June 9th will be the same as a regular half day schedule for both the middle school and high school.

As a Mom, from my personal point of view, no matter what, I always tell Abby, school is most important - it's your job.

Other schools in Ocean County and Monmouth County have had to do this, how do you feel about it?
