I celebrate my Mom everyday!  Mom, you are a true blessing!

Although my Mommy blog is usually about Abby, Sue's Mommy Blog, this one is a little different. It's a blog about my Mommy, besides my daughter--my Mom is my favorite person in the whole wide world!  I love to brag about my Mom!  Although, she'd probably not like that I was writing about her.  Oh Mom, let's dote a little bit on you!  I promise I won't talk about your cooking, although you made some great chili in your lifetime and how about those fantastic brownies!

She carries a lot of names..Marilyn, Mom, Best Friend, Sister, Aunt, Grandma and Nanny.  One blog about my Mom is never going to be enough about this woman who is amazing.  She's the one that when we're out everyone comes up to her and hugs her and says, "Hi Marilyn!"  She makes everyone feel important.  We always joke as a family if you're taking Mom to the store get ready to see somebody that knows her and get ready to stand there and talk for a while.   She never judges and always smiles at you like you are the only person in the world.

She's a musician, her specialty playing the piano.  She can hear a song on the radio and play it.  She's tried to teach me piano for years and years and I never was interested, boy I wish I would have learned to play just like her.

All of her faith and strength has brought us to where we are today.  This woman I call my Mom suffered a stroke, then two car accidents that have left her paralyzed on her left side and now she is battling breast cancer at the young and spry age of 76.  She had a  Mastectomy last year.  It was just one more chapter in her unbelievable book of her life.  And with all of this going on in her life, she does it with a smile on her face and my wonderful Dad who is her caretaker.  They just celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary.  Love is all around us this Mother's Day.

Mom still teaches piano lessons to my niece, plays the piano for the Children's Choir at Church and she plays music for folks coming into Church on Sunday mornings all with her right side of her body only.

I celebrate Mother's Day everyday with her, I'm so fortunate I still have her with me in my life.  Love comes from her..Love for me and Abby in every way.  She's my biggest fan in everything I do.  I'm not able to see her everyday because I'm two hours away but I talk to her every day sometimes twice!   She gets so excited when I call her..she calls me her sunshine, when really she is the sunshine!

She's the glue that holds our family together, the first one to get nervous or worried about us kids and the first person to say, "What can I do to help?"  Even though she can't move very well and her body is badly damaged, she finds a way to make things easier for us.

My Momma is one of those people you could only wish you'd have in your life.  She's a brilliant light in this sometimes dark world, she's kind, she's the best in every way and she's my Mom!  A beautiful soul, Thank you for being my Mom!  Happy Mother's Day, I love you!

Enjoy this special day with your Mom, I know I will!
