According to Jackson Township police, the owner of a 2006 Buick from Flemington exited the theme park Saturday evening and couldn't find her car. She notified Onstar, where operators told her that the car was in motion and not near the area, police said.

Jackson police were notified and transferred the information into the National Crime Information Center as a stolen vehicle.

New Jersey State Police homed in on the car on the New Jersey Turnpike, near Exit 18 leading to the George Washington Bridge, where it crashed as they attempted to pull it to the shoulder, police said.

The investigation remains open.

Police stayed busy around the park much of the weekend. Hurricane Harbor patrons from Lake Hopatcong and Leonardo reported break-ins and burglaries of their cars in the span of just over an hour Saturday, at 5:02 PM and 6:14 PM,  claiming theft of valuables totalling about $1,700 in all.

An unidentified New York 21-year-old was apprehended at the theme park Sunday for allegedly groping a minor. Police say he was detained by a park security patrol, handed over to uniformed officers and charged with criminal sexual contact and child endangerment. He was placed in the Ocean County Jail with bail set at $100,000, police said.
