A Howell woman passed away not long after being hit by an oncoming car as she was turning left out of a driveway on Fairfield Road looking to head northbound on the road.

Officials say 60 year old Patricia Madzin suffered life threatening injuries at the time of the crash and was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center where she passed away.

As Madzin was turning left out of the driveway trying to travel north she was hit by a car driven by Howell resident 24 year old Carmelo Lamarca who was traveling south on Fairfield Road at the time.

Madzin was bolted from the car, while Lamarca suffered with non-life threatening injuries and was later released from Jersey Shore Medical Center following treatment.

The car crash remains under investigaiton and no current charges are being pressed against anyone involved.
