An unsuccessful getaway for the suspect in a brazen day light pick-pocketing incident at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. Jackson Township Police report that on Sunday evening, 20-year-old Gary Troxel of New Egypt observed the victim purchase an item inside the water park and place a large amount of cash in his pocket.

When the victim neared the exit, Police said, Troxel struck up a conversation with him and allegedly pushed him and removed the cash from his pocket and ran to a getaway vehicle. However, the victim's family members and bystanders pursued Troxel and caught up with him inside the vehicle and prevented it from leaving.

Police said a search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of heroin and drug paraphernalia. They also recovered $3,000 on Troxel's possession.

Troxel was arrested and charged with robbery and drug possession counts and was placed in the Ocean County Jail on $35,000 cash only bail. The driver, 40-year-old James Towles Jr., also of New Egypt, was arrested and released on a heroin possession charge.
