A tragedy in Burlington Township Thursday after a 12-year old goes missing around 4:49 pm and three hours later (about 7:46 pm) is pulled from Sylvan Lake after drowning to death.

Burlington Township Police say the boy who resides in Burlington City, was there with friends when he jumped into the water but didn't resurface once in the lake, located at the intersection of Lake Avenue and 14th Street.

Several police officers, fire personnel and EMS personnel immediately entered the lake to try in a search and rescue mission for the juvenile but sadly had no success.

The pre-teen's body was eventually recovered by members from the NJSP TEAMS Unit.

Police don't suspect foul play.
