A Bronx New York man is in the Monmouth County Jail after allegedly assaulting and biting two Howell Best Buy employees who confronted him about shoplifting. Police say 50-year-year old Ashley Mason repeatedly pushed the employees in an effort to get away on Saturday, January 18th and when they attempted to restrain him, Mason bit both workers on the hands and threw one to the ground.

Police said they also located additional stolen property inside his rented vehicle.

Mason is being charged with 2nd degree Robbery, Shoplifting 4th degree, Simple Assault (2 counts) Possession of an Anti-Shoplifting Device and Resisting Arrest. He remains in the Monmouth County jail on $209,000 bail.
