The power of music is hard to describe sometimes.  Songs make us smile.  Songs make us feel romantic.  Some songs make us cry because because they tap into emotions like sadness, hurt or loss.

Below is a video clip which made me cry, I think because it paired sad feelings with a bit of hope and promise for the future.  It's an all-star charity fundraising effort in response to the Orlando shootings.  Broadway stars got together to record the song "What The World Needs Now Is Love" from Burt Bacharach.  The lyrics to that song are so beautifully simple.  I know a song can't make the problems of the world go away.  But I do believe that coming together, sharing talents, and promoting kindness and love is a positive step towards healing.

Sara Bareilles sings the first notes of this beautiful rendition followed by many other famous performers including  Carole King, Gloria Estefan, Wayne Brady, Idina Menzel, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker.  I don't know the names of those women who are belting at the end but....wow!  That amazing vocal power gave me chills!  Have a look and see if it moves you too.
